SHAPE & Upcoming sale

This weekend I had the opportunity to go to the Shape Bikini Body Tour in South Beach. The weather was absolutely perfect but the trainer of one of the classes I took (Geoff Bagshaw), has basically left me immobile today because the lower half of my body is quite sore! But, I got an incredible workout and highly recommend you to go to the tour when they stop in Santa Monica if you are able to.

Besides working out, I’ve been so busy with school that I haven’t had time to open up my Anthropologie items that were finally shipped from the last big sale two weeks ago. I forewarned my husband that their is supposed to be a gigantic sale on Tuesday. Fortunately for him, I don’t  many of my wishlist items will go on sale. For example, the Chantico Tank has been out since February, but I just noticed this past week they’ve come out with a beautiful new green color! So, I don’t think that will be hitting a sale quite yet. Other than that, I’ve had my eye on a couple of cardigans and a few knit tees. I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll make it to the sale!

What are you hoping goes on sale?

Jenny Packham

I’ve never seen Glee before (unless you count the previews on TV). It’s not that I haven’t wanted to, just that I haven’t had the time. I noticed one of it’s stars, Lea Michele, wearing a little dress that reminded me of Miley Cyrus’s Oscar dress by Jenny Packham. I think Lea’s dress is a cute and more casual version that you can actually wear out. The color of Lea’s dress reminds me of the Drifting By Dress, whereas Miley’s is more gold.

Tabby’s Story

Tabby is a cat who I somewhat coaxed to follow me home one day many years ago when I was walking my dog. Since then, he’s never really left. He was tall, lanky, and very malnourished. I also assumed that he had been dumped by his previous owner because he was too friendly for a feral cat. When we first took him to the vet, my mother kept reminding me that we weren’t keeping him. Because my family already had cats named “stray 1,” “stray 2,” and so forth in our file, we decided to call him Tabby because of his breed. It because obvious very quickly that he was now part of the family. Tabby lived outside but slept in my family’s garage (we had too many pets inside and we weren’t sure of how our cats at the time would react to another cat). When I moved away from home for college, I begged my mother to let me take him. It took about a year and a half to convince her. I remember in the car with him for 6 hours on the highway. I even brought him (in his carrier) into the gas station bathroom with me because I was too afraid to leave him in the car. We ended up bonding very quickly. He’s moved around with me to about 4 different apartments, crazy roommates (and their pets – rabbits, cats, etc), and managed to stay sane during all of it. I like to think he helped me pick my husband too, considering he loved to run and around play with him whenever he would come to my apartment when we started dating. Fast forward several years later, he doesn’t play and run around with my husband or I quite like he used to. He does however run around with Daisy and has become quite fond of Tulip. While we think he might have been a bit taken back when we first brought home Daisy (as an 8-week old puppy) and Tulip (at just a couple of weeks old), he’s accepted them into his family and treats them like his little sisters.

I think he’s quite photogenic!

Anthropologie Review & Movie Review

Blooms Adrift Top – $39.95? (on sale)

I love this blouse! It’s cozy and the print is like nothing I own. It’s not very fitted and I’m afraid that if I lose a little weight (which I am currently trying to get back into shape) then it won’t fit. Although I don’t know if I will be able to track down my size. Besides it possibly feeling a little loose, I have a concern for the flowers on the right side of the chest. The red one in the middle is fraying quite a bit! I hope hand washing will help keep it intact.

Iron Man 2

Overall the movie was okay. I was expecting better. I think a much better villain could have been cast (instead of Mickey Rourke). There are some good action scenes but the movie was too long. Scarlett Johansson’s role was minimal. They showed just about every scene she was in during the previews. My husband and I both like Don Cheadle, but we would have preferred seeing Terrence Howard maintain his role as Rhody, in this movie too. While it wasn’t a horrible sequel, I think Transformers 2 was much better (when comparing sequels).

I found them!!

After searching high and low for the Sweater Cuffed Booties for months, I finally found a pair! I wanted to give a HUGE thank you to Mia who I found on Roxy’s blog Effortless Anthropologie. She was kind enough to send me an email letting me know she was returning a pair. Of course, I didn’t check my email yesterday and somewhat freaked out when I thought I might have lost out on my chance to get them. Lucky enough, a very nice SA at the NJ store knew exactly what I was talking about (since I didn’t have the style number) and where they were.

They are finally on their way to me!

Thank you Roxy for your wonderful blog!

Sale at Anthropologie continued…

I ended up adding another item to my sale purchases after tracking it down in a store in Tennessee.

Fiber Optics Dress – $99.95 (on sale)

I’m buying this one on a whim because I have no clue if it will fit. My B&M never got it in stock, so I never had a chance to try it on. I’ve read mixed reviews of how the dress fits, so I ended up picking up a smaller size because it is a wrap-style dress and some comments I read about the bust area have plenty of extra fabric.

I’ve now cut myself off from buying anything else!

Sale at Anthropologie

I set my alarm to wake up early this morning to check out Anthropologie’s new sale items. But when my alarm went off, I decided I shouldn’t spend any money and went back to sleep. After grabbing a few more zzz’s I woke up to Tulip (kitten) and Daisy (recently lost the “puppy” status and became a dog)  jumping around the bedroom. I figured I should check out online whether any of my wishlisted items had made it to the sale. Lo and behold, several did!

I picked up:

Emollient Satchel – $99.95 (on sale)

I’ve been eyeing this bag for a while. It keeps appearing and disappearing off my wish list. When it’s price dropped by 50%, I knew I had to give it a chance.

Roads Askew Top – $39.95 (on sale)

When I first reviewed this top here, I wasn’t entirely crazy about how it fit. I decided to order a size up from what I tried on. We’ll see if the extra length can sway my feelings toward it. Hopefully it won’t be too big!

Blooms Adrift Top – $39.95 (on sale)

I first saw this blouse as I was leaving my B&M Anthropologie. I didn’t see it in the store when I went back, so I’ve never tried it on. But the print is unique and it is nothing like anything I own, so I ended up adding it to my order. I hope it fits!

That is all from my online order! The last item I purchased I had to make a couple of phone calls for…

The Two Paths Trench Coat! – $99.95 (on sale)

I have been wanting this coat for months!! I first reviewed it here. When my size sold out online, I almost caved and bought it full price at B&M and now I am very glad I didn’t! I can’t wait for it to arrive, even though I won’t be able to use it until Fall.

Did you pick up anything from the sale?
