I found them!!

After searching high and low for the Sweater Cuffed Booties for months, I finally found a pair! I wanted to give a HUGE thank you to Mia who I found on Roxy’s blog Effortless Anthropologie. She was kind enough to send me an email letting me know she was returning a pair. Of course, I didn’t check my email yesterday and somewhat freaked out when I thought I might have lost out on my chance to get them. Lucky enough, a very nice SA at the NJ store knew exactly what I was talking about (since I didn’t have the style number) and where they were.

They are finally on their way to me!

Thank you Roxy for your wonderful blog!

Sale at Anthropologie continued…

I ended up adding another item to my sale purchases after tracking it down in a store in Tennessee.

Fiber Optics Dress – $99.95 (on sale)

I’m buying this one on a whim because I have no clue if it will fit. My B&M never got it in stock, so I never had a chance to try it on. I’ve read mixed reviews of how the dress fits, so I ended up picking up a smaller size because it is a wrap-style dress and some comments I read about the bust area have plenty of extra fabric.

I’ve now cut myself off from buying anything else!

Sale at Anthropologie

I set my alarm to wake up early this morning to check out Anthropologie’s new sale items. But when my alarm went off, I decided I shouldn’t spend any money and went back to sleep. After grabbing a few more zzz’s I woke up to Tulip (kitten) and Daisy (recently lost the “puppy” status and became a dog)  jumping around the bedroom. I figured I should check out online whether any of my wishlisted items had made it to the sale. Lo and behold, several did!

I picked up:

Emollient Satchel – $99.95 (on sale)

I’ve been eyeing this bag for a while. It keeps appearing and disappearing off my wish list. When it’s price dropped by 50%, I knew I had to give it a chance.

Roads Askew Top – $39.95 (on sale)

When I first reviewed this top here, I wasn’t entirely crazy about how it fit. I decided to order a size up from what I tried on. We’ll see if the extra length can sway my feelings toward it. Hopefully it won’t be too big!

Blooms Adrift Top – $39.95 (on sale)

I first saw this blouse as I was leaving my B&M Anthropologie. I didn’t see it in the store when I went back, so I’ve never tried it on. But the print is unique and it is nothing like anything I own, so I ended up adding it to my order. I hope it fits!

That is all from my online order! The last item I purchased I had to make a couple of phone calls for…

The Two Paths Trench Coat! – $99.95 (on sale)

I have been wanting this coat for months!! I first reviewed it here. When my size sold out online, I almost caved and bought it full price at B&M and now I am very glad I didn’t! I can’t wait for it to arrive, even though I won’t be able to use it until Fall.

Did you pick up anything from the sale?

After what seems to be an eternity. I am finally getting a moment to put up an update post.

My husband is much better, although some test results came back and he needs to go for more testing. My school semester finally ended, but I’m about to begin an “intercession class” on Monday. It is a class that is offered between the spring and summer semesters that is a 5-day long intensive course. I barely had a “break” from school. I ended up flying out to find an apartment for where I will be moving in August. Needless to say, I spent 6 days driving around a rental car (Chrysler 300 — which is very hard to park!) and found tons of overpriced, old apartments to choose from. When I say overpriced, I mean easily spending $2500-$3000 without bills, for a small 2 bedroom. I should be moving to New York City for that much money!

While I have some reviews and other stuff I would like to catch up on, I just wanted to share some purchases that I made yesterday.

Avatar Blu-Ray/DVD Combo – $19.99

My husband and I rarely go to the movies. We make exceptions for action flicks (e.g. Transformers, Iron Man, etc). We have a theatre within walking distance from our apartment, but tickets are $9.50 each. So, we usually rent them from our Publix (through Blockbuster Express) for $1.00 and spend the $18 dollars we saved from not going to the theatre on something else. Avatar was a movie we both wanted to see in the theatre but never had time to do it. When we realized it was no longer in the theatre and was coming out onto DVD within a matter of days, we figured we’d just buy it (as if we had gone to the theatre). Normally we wouldn’t buy a movie that we’ve never seen, but with the reviews being so great, we figured there would be no way that we would hate the movie. Amazon.com had the combo listed at $19.99 (plus shipping), as did Target, so I picked up a copy. (Note: Walmart and Best Buy were more expensive).

*Just a little extra note. The movie plans to be re-released into the theatre this fall with six additional minutes of never aired footage. Another Blu-Ray/DVD will be released afterwards. They are also planning on releasing a 3D version of the movie next Spring.*

Liberty of London for Target Pleated Dress – Jumper Print – $20.98 (on sale in stores); $29.99 (online)

I was never really drawn to the Liberty of London line at Target because I generally don’t wear prints. I had tried on a blouse when the collection first arrived in stores, but disliked how the blouse was cut. It made me look quite frumpy because of my chest. I found this dress in the clearance section (after someone had picked it up, but ended up putting it back on the rack) and figured I would try it on. Well, I ended up really liking it! I think the photos online are pretty horrid. This is the first halter dress that I’ve been able to purchase despite have a larger chest. The print is brighter than in the photos and the fit is more flattering in person. The arm holes didn’t hang low either. I assume the online price will change soon considering it’s now on sale in stores.

The dress reminds me of Anthropologie’s Castle Lake Dress, except the Liberty for London dress is much more affordable.

That’s all for now. Have a great weekend everyone!

I need some help

Besides my wishlist of current Anthro items and old Anthro items (see sidebar), I’ve been trying to hunt down something from MAC Cosmetics. Today I went to four stores (3 carried MAC and 1 was a MAC store) and had no luck. I am looking for the Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach from the Colour Forecast Collection that came out recently.

If anyone happens to come across one and can send it to me (with reimbursement of course!) I would really appreciate it!
